The Courthouse

This project comprises a high-quality, architect-designed four-bedroom home set within a sensitive rural landscape, with expansive views towards The Cloud and the surrounding countryside.

The design is centred around a strong relationship between the house and its setting, with a clear, contemporary form and a carefully considered internal layout. A generous open-plan kitchen, dining and living space forms the heart of the home, with floor-to-ceiling glazing opening directly onto the gardens and framing long-distance views. More private spaces, including a snug and bedroom accommodation, are arranged to provide flexibility, comfort and privacy.

Sustainability was a key driver in the design, with an air source heat pump, underfloor heating throughout and high levels of thermal performance incorporated to support efficient, future-focused living.

Externally, the scale, proportions and material choices were carefully considered to ensure the dwelling sits comfortably within its rural context, forming part of a small, bespoke development of three individually designed homes.
