A Brighter Bungalow

This project transformed the rear of an existing bungalow, replacing a dated flat-roofed extension with a more considered living space designed around light, openness and garden views.

 

The new rear extension introduced a pitched roof form, rooflights and large glazed doors, creating a bright, vaulted space for everyday living.

Internally, the layout was opened up to form a modern kitchen, dining and lounge area with a stronger connection to the garden.

Externally, the brickwork, roof form and glazing were designed to sit comfortably with the existing bungalow while giving the home a much fresher and more practical feel.
